Module 8: Evaluations
Benefits activity

Now that we’ve talked some about the different types of evaluations and their characteristics, let’s do an exercise designed to help further delineate their benefits. For each of the benefits listed below, select the type of evaluation – A for process, B for impact, and C for outcome – that it describes.


A B C   Benefits
1)  States why or why not it affected decisions that were made
2)  Keeping track of what worked well and what did not for future health impact assessments
3)  Allows you to determine if estimates were correct or not for future HIAs
4)  Creates ‘lessons learned’ for working with staking holders that can be applied to other HIA or non-HIA projects
5) Keeps record of how HIA impacted project
6) Can be determined by examining final plans or proposals passed
7) Does not take a lot of extra resources
8) Gold standard of evaluation
